How Does Fibroblast Skin Tightening Work?

The fibroblast treatment has grown in status and appeal due to the many advantages over surgery.  There’s less downtime, it is much less expensive, no cutting of the skin and no stitches. This means you are able to resume your normal activities even sooner.

Fibroblasts, aka Plasma skin tightening is comparatively new in North America but continues to be safely and successfully performed in Europe for many years.  The precision plasma device works by making use of the voltage in the air between the device tip and surface of the skin to release a plasma charge.  This electric stream, or arc, instantly shrinks the skin in the highly targeted area.  This tissue retraction is what allows final results that are comparable to invasive surgical treatments.

How Long Does It Last?

Plasma Fibroblast isn’t like putting on a gimmicky tightening cream. It’s actually a cosmetic treatment and procedure. When done right you can expect results to last as long as they would by having an invasive surgical procedure. Like any surgical treatments the effects aren’t completely permanent and can’t stop the aging process.

In spite of this, the results you get should last for many years. The amazing effect of your Plasma Fibroblast treatment should be apparent almost immediately after the first treatment and continuing to improve over 4 weeks. Depending on the body part treated and expected results, an additional treatment may be required after 6 to 8 weeks. Harmful lifestyle choices such as excessive sun, smoking, and excess alcohol consumption are discouraged in an attempt to maintain long-term results. Those who want a treatment should also be aware that individual genetics could have an effect on the length of treatment benefits.

What Can I Expect During The Day of Treatment?

You shouldn’t apply makeup or use any lotions, creams or moisturizers on your day of treatment. Simply come in with clean skin. We suggest taking an antihistamine one hour before your appointment and continue taking antihistamines for 2-3 days after your treatment. This will reduce inflammation in the treatment area.

A topical numbing agent is applied to the procedure area and left on to take effect in 20 to 30 minutes. When the area is sufficiently numb the treatment begins. During the treatment you will feel a small amount of heat or minor irritation. Treatment time will last from 45 minutes up to several hours depending on the size of the treatment area.

During the first appointment you’ll be provided after care instructions. Following these instructions is imperative for getting the best results. No exfoliators or harsh cleansers may be used in the week after treatment. We suggest a pH balanced soap like Dove. You must also avoid rubbing or scratching the treated area.

What Side Effects Should I Expect?

Fibroblast is shown to be a safe and non-surgical procedure for thousands of patients. This procedure has no stitches, needles or bloodshed in fibroblast.

Understandably, as with most aesthetic procedures, people are more prone to experience a small number of minimal side-effects within the first 5-10 days after the procedure.

Most patients experience slight itching in the treatment area for a single day.
